“Idol” Recap: Karen Rodriguez Bounces Back
After her pitchy rendition of Selena Quintanilla’s “I Could Fall in Love With You” landed her in the bottom three last week, Karen Rodriguez bounced back with a solid performance of Taylor Dayne’s “Love Will Lead You Back.” It wasn’t her best performance, but at least Karen reminded the judges (and more importantly, Idol viewers) that she has a big, beautiful voice, and that she’s hungry to become the first Latina to win American Idol. Jennifer Lopez said it best when she told Karen, “You attacked the song.”

As many of you may or may not know, this week (March 14-21) is Coming Out Week. What is Coming Out? Last year, undocumented immigrant youth, took a stand and said, “we will no longer stand in the shadow, we are not “illegals”, we are not “criminals”, we are dreamers.” They took a stand and came out “undocumented” and “Unafraid”.
